Oil needs to be pretreated before entering the oil press to press edible oil. The state of the oil after the pretreatment stage will affect the yield and quality of the finished oil. 1. Drying and selection of oil
Oil pressing has high requirements for moisture and impurities. The moisture content is not more than 12%, and the impurity content is not more than 0.5%. This is also the top priority in pretreatment, but many investors ignore this point and think it is dispensable.
Little do they know that improperly selected oil has too many impurities, which will block the oil circuit, and large impurities (sand and gravel) will accelerate the wear of parts (pressing screws, pressing bars, and cake outlets) in the oil press, which will not only reduce the oil yield, but also greatly shorten the service life of the oil press, causing unnecessary losses. If this is done well, you can get twice the result with half the effort.

2. Shelling and peeling
For some oilseeds with shells, shelling is also required during pretreatment. Because some shells have high fiber content and high oil absorption, if the shells are pressed together, the oil squeezed out will not reach the expected yield.
3. Crushing and flaking
Flaking is good for speeding up processing capacity and oil yield, and reducing wear of the screw, especially for rapeseed after flaking.
4. Stir-frying seeds
If you want to increase the oil yield of oilseeds and the production efficiency of oil presses, it is necessary to increase the temperature of the oilseeds before pressing.
